National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment is organized by the National Council for Science and the Environment and usually held in January (submission deadlines vary). The timing of the conference also sometimes varies from year to year; check their website for details about upcoming conference dates.

Description: This is an interdisciplinary conference, and the major focus is the role of science in environmental decision-making.  Each year a different theme within that broader focus is chosen.

Attendees include a variety of professionals in government, business, and the nonprofit world, in addition to academics. Part of the goal of the conference is to produce recommendations about the role of science in decision-making, and to disseminate them to decision-makers in Congress and other institutions capable of implementing those recommendations.
